Yvonne V. Perez

January 28, 1941 — July 26, 2025

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her life, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved matriarch, Yvonne Veronica Perez, on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 6:15 in the afternoon. She was surrounded by the very people she loved most—her family—whose lives were forever shaped by her grace, wisdom, and unwavering devotion. Born on January 28, 1941, in the vibrant city of Kingston, Jamaica, Yvonne was the cherished daughter of Linda and Joseph Hutton. She was the second youngest of nine siblings and grew up in a household filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family. Her siblings—Oswald, Larry, Frank, Owen, Winston, Mercedes ("Aunty Joy"), Delores ("Aunty Girlie"), and Olivia ("Aunty Sweetie") helped shape the resilient and nurturing spirit she carried all her life. Yvonne's early years were marked by her strength and dedication. She was no stranger to hard work and lived a life grounded in humility and love. She later married the love of her life, Vernon Perez, and together they built a home and legacy filled with faith, values, and unconditional love. They raised three children: Pete-Gaye, Vickston, and Karen, each of whom carried her light and kindness into the world in their own unique ways. Her journey brought her to the United States, where she settled in Wellington, Florida to remain close to her children and grandchildren; a role she cherished above all else. She wasn't just a mother or grandmother; she was the heart of the family, a quiet force who held everyone together with her soft strength, boundless patience, and a heart that had room for everyone. Yvonne leaves behind a legacy of love that spans generations. She is survived by her sister, Olivia ("Sweetie"), her daughters Pete-Gaye and Karen, her eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who were blessed to know her. She was the kind of woman who made you feel safe just by being in her presence, who prayed for you even when you didn't ask, and who gave everything she had without ever asking for anything in return. To know Yvonne was to know compassion, grace, and the quiet power of unconditional love. Her memory will live on in every Sunday dinner, every prayer whispered at night, every gentle hug, and every lesson passed down through the generations. Her absence leaves an ache that words cannot heal, but her love remains a permanent echo in our hearts, a guiding light through the darkness. Rest well, Yvonne. Your legacy lives on through every life you touched. You are deeply missed, endlessly loved, and forever remembered.
