Yvette Marie Louise Blanchard, 82, died November 5, 2011, with her family by her side at Palm Beach Gardens Hospital where her daughter serves as a nurse. Yvette was loved and cared for by the staff at this hospital where she was well known. She was born March 24, 1929, in Port Au Prince, Haiti to Glorvina Dusseck and Joseph Blanchard. Yvette served as a highly respected teacher in Port au Prince. She moved to Canada in July, 1969 and then later to New York City in July, 1970. At this point in her life, she began her newest chapter as an American citizen. She proudly served for over 15 years until her retirement in the finance department at Chase Manhattan Bank on Wall Street. Indeed, she was a master of the S&P and stock market! Yvette later moved to Florida in 1987 with her daughter Michele and her family. Yvette was a very devoted Christian who often read the Bible and shared the miracle of Christ in her life. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Indeed, her love of her grandchildren was evidenced by the fact that they called her "Manman." She was grandmother and mother to all. She will be most remembered for her vibrant spirit, love of family, and great sense of style. Her family was often entertained by her observations of current events and international news. She was often referenced as the family historian, as the one in the family who could easily recall family history and happenings. Her journey will be remembered by all through her fighting spirit and resolve to live fully after battling a lifetime of heart related complications. Indeed, she will be missed. Yvette is survived by her sisters, Jacqueline and Lucienne; brother, Robert; 2 sons Emile and Pierre Richard, daughter Michele; 7 grandchildren Tara, Yves Jr., Alphonse, Jean Philippe, Alain, Andrea and Gabrielle; 2 great-grandchildren Maddox and Scarlette; numerous nephews and nieces Alain, Didier, Valerie, Lionel, Stephan, Monique, Jacqueline, Daniel, Guy, Jonathan, Naomi, Benjamin, Noah, Lula, Aizen, Jochaim, Josianne, Rachel, Alix Jr., Jacqueline, Glorvina, Daniel, Pierre, Daniel Jr., Jessica, Felix Jr., and Corey. The family would like to sincerely thank all of the close friends who loved Yvette as mother, grandmother and friend. Her life was enhanced by your love and support. We thank you for your kindness to our family. A visitation will be haeld at Palms West Funeral Home on Friday, November 11, 2011 from 7:00 PM unitl 9:00 PM with a wake service at 7:30 PM. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery.
