Wilmot Roy Smith, age 92, passed away peacefully at his home in Clewiston, Florida, on January 10th, 2026. He will be remembered for his kindness and the love he shared with all who knew him.
His gentle spirit touched people in quiet but lasting ways—through a warm smile, a thoughtful word, or the steady presence he offered in moments when it mattered most. Wilmot lived a life rooted in humility, generosity, and deep devotion to his family. He carried himself with a calm strength that made others feel safe, supported, and valued.
To friends, he was a dependable confidant; to his community, a man who gave without seeking recognition; and to his family, the unwavering foundation upon which generations were built. His legacy is not only in the years he lived, but in the countless lives he brightened with his patience, wisdom, and open heart. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will forever carry the memory of his compassion and the quiet dignity with which he walked through life.
He is survived by his three sons, five grandchildren, six brothers, one sister, one uncle, and many other cherished family members.
There will be a repast held at the Portuguese American Cultural Society (13265 Okeechobee Blvd Loxahatchee, FL 33470 Website: http://www.pacsflorida.com/) following the graveside services.
Acknowledgments The family of Wilmot Roy Smith wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, support, and love shown during this time of loss.
