William Henry Starr Iii

October 11, 1937 — January 17, 2015

Bill was a southern gentlemen born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was man of kindness and gentleness, yet he would tell you like it is "honestly" with clarity and strong principles. He is well known for his many stories and many sayings. Bill had a great laugh that was so hearty it went right down into your to your heart. It was a pleasure being married to him for the last 17 years... He was the love of my life and I was his, We thanked GOD together many many times for bringing us together. As we were dating and I got to know him,I said to God "I didn't know you made them like this anymore" What we had was a gift from GOD and we both knew it. It was not unusual for complete strangers to come up to us and say"now that's the way love is supposed to be". We stayed on our honeymoon the entire length of our marriage. He was the love of my life and I was his. He was from Mississippi and I was from Minnesota. We use to love tease each other about which one of us had the accent. When we would have to be apart for a few hours we would say" My heart goes with you and mine goes with yours. He loved his children and grandchildren and was dearly loved by them. We had 10 children together and 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren with another great grandchild due next week at about the same time Bill would have celebrated 31 years clean and sober." Pop-pop "as he as sometimes called by the grand kids had a special tone in his voice that by him talking he could quiet a crying grandchild as they were mesmerized by his voice. Our grandchildren are: Samantha,Leahna, Merlin, Chase, Connor,Chelsea, Brittnee,Matt,Amanda,Cole, Kendall,Mya, Tyann, Harrison, Malcolm, Christy, Cassandra, and Olivia, Harmony, and Raisha. What we had was a gift from God through Alcoholics Anonymous, were we met. He loved A.A. And saved many lives from drugs and alcohol ,saved many marriages and rerouted many lives into living a much happier way of life. He had a great sense of humor and was always game for my sense of "I love Lucy" humor. Seven years ago he had a ruptured aorta aneurism with only a 5% chance of survival. He lay on deaths doorstep for almost 30 dayStates as far as Puerto Rico. He had a great team of Doctors and help from family members many of whom are medical too. The doctors told him he had "God prints all over him". We fell in love the first time we went out together and we fell together literally our last I time..I found him passed out and had to get him to the floor to do CPR. Our daughter Katie by Gods grace was there that day to help me..We" fell ''down one last time for each other and I then started CPR...shortly after was he was" Born to Eternal Life". In the end He fought the good fight....We fought the good fight together.and we gave it our all.He suffers no more.
