William (Bill) Burlingham III was born to Bill and Emma Burlingham in Ohio on May 23rd, 1938 as their only child. He spent most of his younger years in California, NYC and went to Aiken Prep School (Mead Hall Episcopal School) in Aiken, South Carolina. Bill attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, and was a benefactor throughout his adult life, participating and enjoying many college reunions. His first career was in banking, then car racing and Jai Alai. Bill then transitioned to a lumber salesman for Gulfstream Lumbar Company in Boynton Beach and retired after 30 years of service. He enjoyed playing tennis, shooting, western movies, scuba diving, cutting grass and George Carlin. Bill married Joyce Johnson, a son William Burlingham IV was born to them on August 29, 1970 at St. Mary's hospital in West Palm Beach Florida. Bill had an everlasting love for his ex-wife Joyce Johnson, and despite failing health they enjoyed many great weekend visits for lunch in Stuart and picnics on Hutchinson Island - laughing and reminiscing about the old times. Bill passed away peacefully at his beloved home in Little Ranches of Wellington, FL, in the early morning of 10/10/2017. William (Bill) Burlingham III is survived by his ex-wife Joyce Johnson residing in Stuart, FL and their son William Burlingham IV of Jupiter, FL. Bill will be interred next to his mother Emma Williams Burlingham at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio. A visitation in honor of Bill's life will be held at the Palms West Funeral Home, on Tuesday, October 17th, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
