William Clair Bausch, 95, resident of Wellington, FL passed away early Friday morning, March 11, 2016 peacefully surrounded by his whole family. Born April 26, 1921 in Beech Creek, PA, he was the son of Joseph Leo Bausch and Francis (Berry) Bausch. He was the husband of Grace Arlene (Harrison) Bausch who passed away three years ago. Their 72nd Wedding Anniversary was just recently. Bill graduated from Brighton High in Boston, MA then attended the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, graduating in 1942. During the war he served as engineer officer transporting military supplies and equipment to troops throughout the world during which time two of his ships were torpedoed. He traveled down the coast of West Africa, the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf, thru the Indian Ocean transporting supplies to troops and allies. He left the Merchant Marines in 1958 as a licensed Chief Engineer. After his service he worked for Southeast Banks as Chief Engineer and ascending to VP in construction and utilities. After retiring from the bank in 1980, Grace & Bill enjoyed traveling throughout the country in their travel trailer, eventually settling in Deltona, FL. Bill is predeceased by wife Grace, 97. He is survived by their three children; William Lee Bausch of Deltona, FL., Lynda Jean Bausch (Kolbenheyer) and her husband Howard of Key Largo, FL and Gary Dean Bausch and wife Joan Bausch of Wellington, FL. He was also very proud of his four grandchildren; Barry Bausch and wife Tiffany of Ladson, SC,; Brian Bausch and wife Rachel of Wellington, FL; Kristyn Bausch Chapman and husband David of Wellington, FL; Dakota Kolbenheyer of NYC, NY as well as six great grandchildren; Blake and Skylar Bausch of Ladson, SC; Dylan, Ryann & Brynn Chapman of Wellington, FL; Noa Bausch of Wellington, FL. Bill's younger brother, Norbert Lee Bausch still lives in San Diego, CA with wife Judy.
