Wayne R Wood

February 18, 1942 — March 27, 2021

On March 27th we all lost a great artist, husband, father and brother known by all as "Woody". He could create a masterpiece that would win trophies at any car show and yet he was so humble. His talent started when he was a teenager in Wallingford, Ct. where he belonged to a car club called the Continental Customs, a bunch of teenagers who'd get together and work on their project cars. This is where his striping career began. From there he began his own body shop career in the late 60's in New Britain, Ct. and called it Woody's Auto Body. His work made a lot of newspapers and he became the one to hire if you wanted something that you could show off proudly. He painted a lot of drag racer's vehicles and even painted a race car for Paul Newman. He carried on his career until he then on to working at home and kept his name going here in Florida. He leaves behind his wife of 59yrs, Brenda, his son a dental technician, Chris, and his sister Jacqueline Webb of Jupiter, Fl. and was predeceased by his daughter Shelly, who passed away in 2009. He will be dearly missed by many of the souls he touched in his life time. There will be a private service at the cemetery for now. Thanks to all the people who have called and offered assistance and support.
