WAYNE TOMPKINS West Palm Beach Wayne Tompkins, 70 died January 4, 2012 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was born to Irma and William Tompkins on December 27, 1941. He was preceded in death by his Mother Irma Hatcher, Father William Tompkins, Sister Barbara Aultz and Brother Harold Tompkins. He is survived by his wife Leila Tompkins of Royal Palm Beach, Sisters Joyce Hole and Brenda Montoya, Brothers William Curtis Tompkins and Reggie Inglett. Wayne was a lifelong residence of West Palm Beach; He is a veteran of the US Navy. He worked as Brick Mason until he went to work with the Palm Beach County Health Department. He retired from the Palm Beach County Health Department in 2004 then continued to work part-time with the facilities department. He loved to ride his motorcycle and participated in charitable toy runs, shopping at flea markets and carpentry. He loved old cars and enjoyed making them run. He is deeply loved by his whole family. He is one of the kindest men you could meet, he never meet a stranger and never meet an enemy. His unique uplifting sprit made him someone you wanted to know. His nick-name was the cookie monster; he loved his cookies with milk. Services: Will be held at Palms West Funeral Home 110 Business Park Way Royal Palm Beach, Florida 33411. Sunday Jan. 8th 2012 at 5:00-7:00pm, Funeral Service will begin at 6:30pm. Honor Guard Procession at 5:00 pm.
