Wayne Malcolm Mitchell, 68, of West Palm Beach, passed away on January 28, 2021. Wayne was born in Fort Worth, TX to Walter Sr. and Maude Mitchell on August 24, 1952. He served in the United States Air Force with his brother Walley. After his service, he pursued a career in Quality Engineering with several companies, and finally retired from Lockheed Martin last year. His job allowed him to travel around the country, and he was proud of the fact that he had visited all but four states. It was his goal to visit the final four with his wife, Fay, upon his retirement. Sadly, he was unable to do so. Wayne loved jokes, whether it was hearing them or telling them. He'd often write down the premise of a joke, only to forget the punchline. He was a perfectionist and had a keen eye for detail. Nothing got past him...except the occasional punchline. He loved watching a good game of football and rooting for his San Francisco 49ers. He enjoyed watching Jeopardy with Fay and never missed an episode of NCIS or Bull. He took pleasure in the simple things like a good meal, a home project, a silly joke, a boisterous game of LCR, a quiet evening alone with his wife. Wayne was calm, soft spoken and mild-mannered. Conversations with him were easy, insightful and soothing. He cared very deeply for his family and friends. He is gone too soon and he will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife Fay, his children Michelle, Nick and Gianna, his brother Walley and his sister Donna, as well as his extended family and friends who loved him. Aim High ...
