Virginie Georgette Ambroise was born on July 19, 1942 in Mirebalais, Haiti to Leonide Nerette and Simeon Dubuisson. She was raised in a big family of six children. As a young woman, she graduated from Ecole Normale de Martissant, Haiti and became a teacher. She then realized her calling was to actually become a nurse. She traveled to Cap Haitien in 1965 where she attended the Nursing School Notre Dame de ta Sagesse. She graduated in 1968 and started her residency in the Hospital General of Port-Au-Prince.

In 1969, she married Emmanuel Liautaud Ambroise the love of her life and left Haiti for the United States where she built a new life. From her union to Liautaud came her children Carl Henry and Marjorie Ambroise.

Georgette was a dedicated and remarkable wife, mother, and sister. Georgette grew up with a deep sense of family, duty, and good faith in God. There wasn't anything that she wouldn't for her family and friends. She sacrificed herself to help people. Georgette was the kind of woman who gives more than she received. She was always present wherever others needed her to be.

As a deeply faithful Catholic, she attended church every Sunday. When her doctor advised against attending large gatherings for her health, she felt a profound loss. She found a way to keep her faith alive by watching daily mass and by her husband bringing Holy Ghost every Sunday.

She was a passionate gardener. Every seed, every little plant or flower will become giant tree full of fruits, full of beauty, and full of life.

To know her is to feel supported and gently cared for. She went above and beyond for the people she loved, always giving advice to her friends and colleagues, often without being asked and always without expecting anything in return. She was a true giver and had a heart of gold.

We remember her not only for all that she accomplished, but also for the way she lived; with dignity, with kindness and with a heart always turned towards others.

Georgette leaves behind a legacy of loves that lives on in her family. She is survived by her beloved husband: Emmanuel Liautaud Ambroise, her children Carl Henry and Marjorie, her granddaughters Maya and Isabella, her sister Anne Dubuisson Joseph, her brother Jean Claude Dubuisson & wife, her countless nieces & nephews, her godchildren, her cousins, close extended family & friends.

Though she is no longer with us in body, and we mourn her absence, her spirit leaves on in our memories. The warmth she gave, the lessons she passed down and the love she wrapped around each and every one of us.

She is truly irreplaceable, and she will be dearly, dearly missed but she will live forever in our hearts.

My dearest darling, we will miss you forever and can't wait for the day when we can be together again to laugh, to share, to hold each other & say "I love you."
