Victoria Yumang Cuevas

It is with an abundance of love and sadness that Victoria Y. Cuevas, 85, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on March 15, 2023 in Wellington, Florida. She leaves behind her two loving daughters, Christina (Alex) Ojeda and Catherine (Michael) Stone, and five grandchildren: Alex, Darryl, Raphael, Angelica, and Michael Jr. She is also survived by two siblings, Dr. Norberto (the late Dr. Milagros) Yumang and Elpidio (Pelilia) Yumang, and her many beloved nieces and nephews. Born on November 17, 1937 in Pampanga, Philippines, Victoria was the daughter of Luis and Marciana Yamat Yumang. She is preceded in death by nine siblings: Estelita (the late Luis) Cruz, Anna (the late Pablito) Bonifacio, Rosario (the late Salvador) Torres, Gregorio (Gloria) Yumang, Proceso (the late Bonifacia) Yumang, Maria (the late Ernesto) Hernandez, Artemio (the late Aurora) Yumang, Eusebia Manese, and Dr. Servillano (Agnes) Yumang. Victoria studied pharmacy at the University of Santo Thomas in Manila, Philippines before entering her lifelong vocation of being a loving mother and nurturing aunt. In her free time, she enjoyed competing in swimming and bowling with her friends. She also loved fashion, decorating, gardening, sewing, music, dancing, travel, and cooking delicious meals for her family. In 1983, Victoria and her family immigrated to the United States and settled in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She worked several years caring for patients at Jameson Memorial Hospital. In 2001, she moved to Boynton Beach, Florida to focus on the role she loved most: being a devoted grandmother. She is remembered by her loved ones as a loyal, hardworking and dedicated woman. The Family wishes to thank the Trustbridge Hospice of Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Kidney Foundation as well as the Arthritis Foundation. A wake and visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Palms West Funeral Home and Crematory, Royal Palm Beach from 9:30 – 10:30 A.M., followed by a Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Rita Catholic Church, Wellington, Florida.
