Vernon (Vern) Gorham, passed away suddenly March 6, 2018 at the age of 64. He was born in Brooklyn NY and made his way to beautiful South Florida in his mid-twenties, to be with his family. Vern was predeceased by his mother Angela less than two months ago. He is survived by his father, Bruce; Daughter, Veronica Moister; Grandchildren, Julian, Sabella & Roman; Sister Mariann and Brother-in-law Keith (Puya) Nephews Joseph, Paul, Blake & Justin as well as all of his many friends and members of his church "catholic" family —whom he held as nearly and dearly as he did his direct family; each one regarded with the utmost care and compassion just as he did with us, his loving family. Something dear to us, that is insisting we smile, just the way he would wish for us to, and that is getting us by until we see him again: His faith was strong and because of his courage to demonstrate this to us all, we have learned from him that he is now and always has been free. The words of the prayer below are a perfect demonstration of who he was and who he knew he would always be. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glint in snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you wake in morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circling flight. I am soft starlight at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there. I did not die.
