Velma Jean Key went to be with the Lord on the morning of April 9, 2021. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Eugene "Chain" Key, who passed away in 2007 after 51 years of marriage. She is also reunited with her 4 sons. Jean was born in Miami, FL on Jan 6,1937 to parents John Wesley Hill (from Manchester,TN) & Delia Almeda Parker (from Mountainview, AR). She graduated from Miami Jackson High School in 1955 where she was involved in Student Government and the Girls Basketball Team. On Jan. 6, 1956 she married her husband, Eugene Key, and later had 4 children, Dennis, Bobby, John, and Timmy. She raised her family in Miami Lakes, FL, then she and her husband purchased a 2nd home in Big Pine Key, FL where they later retired. During retirement she and her husband purchased an RV and traveled the country, afterwhich settling down in Inverness, FL. She moved to Wellington, FL in 2017 to live with her son, John, and family. Jean was a leisure pilot, loved gardening, raised orchids, and was very creative in crafting hobbies. She loved fishing and eating seafood with her family & friends. And she loved her pets! Jean is survived by her Daughter in Laws, Lisa Millen-Key and Mary Beth Key, her 3 grandchildren, Krystal, John, and Troy, her loving dog, Squiggles, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Jean lived a full life and will be missed dearly.
