Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Una Bailey Otherwise known as Miss Ratty of West Palm Beach Florida, Passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 74. Una leaves an indelible impression on those who call her mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend. Her brilliant spirit, giggles and compassionate heart captivated everyone who had the chance to know her. Miss Ratty was born on the 01st of April 1950 in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica to Alexander and Ina Bailey. Where she attended the Nightingale All Age School and then migrated to Kingston Jamaica to her aunt by her dad side of the family to continue her studies but ended up working as a babysitter. She then started dating and had her 1st child, as life continues many years later, boom child number seven in the oven baking. In 1989, she would travel to Grand Cayman every six months for four years working as a caregiver and then She emigrated to The United States of America, in search of a better life for herself and her children. In July 1997, she attended The School of Health Career and become a certified Home Health Aid. Una worked as a private Home Health Aid for over twenty-seven years with several families. As a result of her dedication and spirit, she became an integral part of their family, to the point that they would provide her with support outside of their traditional employer/employee relationships and would re-hire her to take care of other family members within the same home. Una truly lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures: chatting with friends and family, snacking and being a great cook. Cooking and sharing with friends and family was her way of showing love and kindness to others. She is survived by her seven children, Annette Gooden, Marlon Monteith, Casrene Warren, Ivring Campbell, Dominique Vassel-Brown, Lacie Vassel and Tajohna Vassel, Grandchildren's Stefan, Shamour, Aveal and Jayland Warren, Kathryn and Danielle Johnson, Abrianna and Adjatay Brown, Ianna Campbell, Maliyah Leslie, a bonus grandchild Duece our lovely dog and great grandchild Caleb Thrope. A funeral service honoring and celebrating Una's life will be held at The Palm West Funeral Home and Crematory Inc, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, on Sunday, the 02nd of March, at 3:00 p.m.
