His first marriage to Cara-Lou Farrell produced four children, Allison Bivin-Martinez, Megan (Simon) Sweet, Erin Bivin and Brendan (Anne) Bivin. He later found his way back to Chicago to embark on a very successful career in real estate syndication and finance. It was there, in the 80's, that he met his soul mate, Stormi. A second chance at love came as a package deal. She brought two more sons, Christopher (Amy) Bartsch and Scott (Nicole) Bartsch to the party. Tom & Stormi would enjoy thirty five wonderful years together, being blessed with an incredibly well blended family, many great friends and enjoying much travel. This "Brady Bunch"-like family expanded over the last 19 years to include 9 grandchildren who so loved "Papa": Aidan and Olivia Sweet (OH), Anthony Bivin-Caragol (FL), Logan and Rocco Bartsch (IL), Emory & Wiley Bartsch (CO), Kennedy & Abigail Bivin (FL). Tom so loved every one of his children, grandchildren, nephew and nieces unconditionally – they were his greatest pride and joy. Tom was blessed with a well-lived eighty wonderful years, spending the last twenty sharing "the Florida life" with Stormi, his best friend. Serving as the Executive Vice President and National Sales Manager of Ivy Mackenzie Investments brought him and Stormi to Florida, where he subsequently retired. Retirement afforded him to do many things he loved including golfing, traveling and visiting with many dear friends and family dotted across the states. He spent many hours simply enjoying nature and doing daily crossword puzzles on the patio of "The Biv-Inn". He loved animals and adored children. Tom was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be remembered as a kind, fun, loving and generous man. He was a captivating public speaker, an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, an outstanding collegiate lacrosse player, a great dancer and a wonderful conversationalist. He never shied away from the microphone, had a wonderful singing voice and was a natural emcee, hosting group Trivia games for several years at local country clubs. He will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved him. A "Celebration of Tom's Life" will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 23rd at The Wanderer's Club, 1900 Aero Club Drive, Wellington, FL 33414.
