Theresa Lynn Cory

Theresa Lynn Cory (Mason), beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, at the age of 49 in Wellington, Florida. Born on December 11, 1975, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Theresa was the cherished daughter of Dale Collier and the late Carl Thomas Mason. She grew up with her brother, Richard Mason, and his wife, Kenna Mason, fostering a family love for Disney that brought them many joyful memories. On September 4, 1999, Theresa married the love of her life, Samuel Joseph Cory, Jr. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and adventure, raising two wonderful children, Samuel Joseph Cory III and Carly Emma Cory. She was also a devoted daughter-in-law to Samuel Joseph Cory and Maureen Ann Cory. Theresa shared a close bond with her extended family, including her sister-in-laws Gina Marie Cory-Suarez (husband Juan Suarez) and Jill Marie Calefate (husband Kevin Calefate). She was a proud and loving aunt to her nephews, Shawn Mason and Cory Calefate, and nieces, Olivia Calefate and Lily Suarez. Theresa earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from Florida Atlantic University and dedicated her professional life to her role as Vice President of Accounting at Island Hospitality. Her dedication and leadership were admired and respected by her colleagues. Outside of work, Theresa's vibrant spirit came alive in the hobbies she loved. A country music enthusiast, she found joy in line dancing and spending time outdoors—camping, fishing, and hunting with her family and friends. She created lasting memories bike riding and playing mini golf with her children, and her favorite destination was always the mountains of North Carolina, where she found peace and happiness. Theresa will be remembered for her warmth, sense of humor, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A service will be held to honor Theresa's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida.
