Theresa Paula Childs

Theresa L. Childs, age 96 of Kodak, formerly of Ceres, Ny and Royal Palm Beach, Florida, entered into Heaven June 13, 2023. She was born in Jessup, PA. The family moved to Clifton Springs, NY and worked on a small family farm. She also worked at a family owned grocery store most of her adult life. She then moved to Franklinville, NY to raise a family. She then relocated to Ceres, NY in 1970 and worked at grocery stores and independent childcare for several years. Her last employment was with the Olean Medical Group where she retired in 1992. After retirement she relocated to Florida to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She relocated with her daughter to Tennessee in 2017. She was a 55 year survivor of breast cancer. She loved doing puzzles and read the newspaper every day. Her Catholic faith was unwavering and carried her though some of the darkest parts of her life. She cherished her two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She loved watching them grow and hear about their sports and school activities. She kept all of their drawings and letters. She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves. Theresa is preceded in death by her parents Vincent and Angelina Lapresi, brothers Frank and Dominic Lapresi, sisters Rose Colotti and Archangela Lapresi. She is survived by her son John Childs (Candy Torrey) of Green Acres, FL; daughter Cindy Taylor (Chris) of Kodak, TN; grandchildren Amanda (Eddie) Schroeder, of Wellington, FL, Matt Childs (June DiGaetano) of Loxahatchee, FL. Three great grandchildren Austin Childs, EJ Schroeder, and Jameson Childs. Brother Rocky Lapresi (Virginia); several nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends Deacon Steve May of Holy Family Catholic Church in Pigeon Forge; and nurses and care givers from University of Tennessee Hospice, and her 3 fur babies that she enjoyed cuddling. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
