Terese Joan Breen Donohue, 88, died on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at 10:10 am at Lourdes Noreen McKeen Nursing Home. Terese was born to the late Daniel and Catherine (Kit) Breen in Worcester, Massachusetts, on July 12, 1925. The ninth of ten children, Terese was the last surviving Breen. After graduating from Commerce High School, Terese set aside careers in modeling and accounting to marry her Navy sailor, John J. Donohue, July 27, 1946, after WWII. Terese and John moved to Miami, Florida in 1948, where they raised their seven children. A stunning, stylish beauty, Terese surrendered herself to motherhood and homemaking. Terese raised her brood on a shoestring budget, yet there always room for one more at the table. Visiting family and friends were always welcome. Faith, knowledge and humor were the foundations Terese taught her children. In 1991 Terese moved to Royal Palm Beach, where she lived alone, but was never lonely. Passionate about her faith, Terese dedicated her leisure time to her church, Our Lady Queen of the Apostles, Legion of Mary, Divine Mercy, and Eucharistic ministries. Terese was a prayer warrior, and loved instilling her lessons on faith, knowledge and humor to her many grandchildren. Terese's sparkling blue eyes and generous smile told the world of God's light, love and grace. She humbly accepted her role, and spread God's love where ever she went, even in her final days. Terese is survived by her seven children: Patti Cohane (Pete) of Jupiter, FL; Barbara Donohue of Miami; Joan Anderson (Keith) of Newnan, GA; Terese Stocking (Scott) of Royal Palm Beach, FL; John J. Donohue, Jr (Maria) of Davie, FL; Mary McCreery (Joe) of Lantana, FL; and Kit Marlowe, (Kevin Ogonowski) of Lake Worth, FL. The title of Nana was worn proudly by Terese, as she helped care for her twelve grand and three great-grandchildren: Tim Thielen (Mara) of Davie, FL; Maria, Kerry, and John J. III of Davie, FL; Luke (Andrea) Stocking, of Boynton Beach, FL; Devin Donohue USN, NSA Saratoga Springs, NY; Daniel and John David Stocking of Royal Palm Beach; Nick Anderson of Newnan, GA; Cassidy and Madeline McCreery of Lantana, FL; Caiti Marlowe of Lake Worth, FL;and Angie, Allie, and Abby Thielen of Davie, FL. There are many nieces and nephews whom Terese loved as well. Terese was preceded in death by her beloved husband John, November 27, 1987 and granddaughter Evelyn Terese Bryant, April 9, 1974.
