Syble S. Duncan

Syble S. Duncan was born on August 21st, 1930 in the small town of Tabeland, in the beautiful twin isle of Trinidad. Syble, well known to those that loved her as Grams, Grandma, Mammy, Ma, Sybs, Ms. Duncan lived a glorious, abundant life in her 87 years. Migrating to New York in the late 1960s this strong, Matriarch paved the way for her five children to travel to this country to embark on different journeys, to fulfill dreams of new beginnings and endless opportunities. Grams was always a care taker for those around her. She worked tirelessly to ensure that all those that came into her care knew and felt love. Grams loved her garden. She would spend hours in her rose garden, "speaking to her Lord" as she would often say. Grams was a fighter. There was a spark and flame in her spirit that was unmatched. She would "bust your gizzard" or "bust your jacket" if you were in the wrong. The Lord gifted this world his Angel to care for, teach, love, guide, protect, and touch the lives of many. She would be missed beyond words. On July 18th, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones, the Lord called his Angel home. She passed away peacefully knowing she was loved and giving her love in return until her final breath. She will be met in Heaven by her son Dave, grandson Kobina, her siblings Nester and Leslie, and her late husband Rudolph. She is survived by her Siblings Wilma, Merle; Children Angela, Arnell, Anton, Karen; Grandchildren Steve, Shellyann, Stephanie, Kristina, Thomas, Stephen, Kayla, Cyndi, Adrien; Great Grandchildren Syann, Jahfari, Jevon, Jahriel, Kobina, Kiante, Ki-chaun, Kamari, Kaden, Candy, Adriana, Romanos, Jamel, Jahmario, Amarie, Kalafar, Kaleah, Zoe; Adopted children Steve, Andy, Dalton, Dougla, Wendy, Bernadette, Andele, Andell, Jeremy, Danielle, Alvin, Amara, Auria, Marlon, Lisa, Dario, Omari, Aiden, Amari, Madisyn, and many more.
