Susan Lucier Doogue April 28, 1957 – May 14, 2025 With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Susan Lucier Doogue, a devoted mother, loving Nana/Meme, loyal sister, and selfless friend. Susan was born on April 28, 1957, to her parents Shirley and Roger Lucier. She grew up alongside her beloved brother, William Lucier, forming bonds of love and laughter that lasted a lifetime. Susan was the proud and deeply devoted mother of three children: Brian Doogue, Katie Doogue, and Chrissy Swartz. She considered her children her greatest accomplishments and was endlessly proud of the lives they built and the people they became. Her love expanded even more with the arrival of her eight beautiful grandchildren: Anabella, Paisley, Easton, Emma, Alexandra, Liam, Lennox, and Jayden. Her world revolved around her family, and the joy she found in being "Mom" and Nana/Meme was unmatched. To know Susan was to know kindness, patience, and unwavering love. She was more than just a mother—she was a best friend, a confidante, and a guiding light. She gave the best advice, not by telling you what you wanted to hear, but by helping you see the whole picture. She had a gift for listening with her heart and offering wisdom with compassion. Susan had a remarkable ability to put others first, always placing the needs of those around her above her own. Her selflessness defined her life. Whether it was at work, with her family, or even with strangers, Susan gave freely of herself without expecting anything in return. She was dedicated in every aspect of her life—especially to her work. Susan took pride in everything she did, and her strong work ethic and quiet determination inspired those around her. Susan was present for every milestone, big or small. It's impossible to recall a single life event without her being there—cheering us on, comforting us, laughing with us, or simply being by our side. Her love was consistent and unconditional. Our memories with her are full of warmth and humor. From spontaneous road trips to unforgettable vacations, she made even the simplest moments special. We'll never forget the time she unknowingly walked through a restaurant with toilet paper trailing behind her or the countless times she fell out of the raft while white water rafting—laughing along with us every time. She may not have been the most athletic, but her spirit never let her miss a moment. Raised in a strict church setting, Susan's faith remained important throughout her life. She made sure her children grew up with a foundation of faith and spirituality. She prayed constantly—literally. Whether driving past a church and blessing herself or whispering quiet prayers throughout her day, she lived in a constant conversation with God. That connection brought her peace and gave her strength during life's hardest moments. Susan Lucier Doogue was so many things to so many people—Mom, Nana/Meme, Aunt Sue, Susan, Sue. However you knew her, you knew love. Her life was one of compassion, humility, laughter, and strength. We love you more than words can express. Thank you for every hug, every prayer, every sacrifice, and every moment. Until we meet again—rest peacefully in God's embrace.
