Sumanchandra Patel

December 18, 1950 — February 6, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Suman Patel, who left this world on February 6, 2025, at the age of 74. As a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, sibling, uncle, friend, and mentor, Suman was known for his unbelievably kind heart, giving nature, wisdom, dedication, determination, persistence, and commitment to excellence. Born on December 18, 1950 in a small village in Aghar, Gujarat, India, Suman built a life filled with extraordinary love, hard work, and generosity. He came from humble upbringings and was a self-made man who was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He immigrated to the United States in September 1973 to further his education in the field of Electrical Engineering. He believed the United States was the only nation in the world that offered endless opportunities. He was also a strong believer that education could open any and all doors as it certainly did for him. He graduated from M.P. Pandya High School in Jetalpur, India in 1967; completed a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from L.D. College of Engineering in Ahmedabad, India in 1973; a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in 1975; and a Master of Business Administration from Florida Institute of Technology in 1983. He worked at Harris Corporation from 1979-1980 in Long Island, New York; Martin Marietta Corporation from 1981-1984 in Orlando, Florida; and Harris Corporation from 1984-1989 in Orlando, Florida as an electrical engineer. He eventually transitioned to a second career as a very successful entrepreneur in the hotel industry. He not only built a very successful life but was able to help many, many others build their lives as well. Suman loved to relax by going to the beach for a walk and enjoying a delicious meal with his family and friends. He very much loved to travel the world and engage in new experiences and cultures. His journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and an unwavering faith. He was the hardest working individual any of us knew, was known for his commitment to anyone he met, and was the most genuine and selfless person this world had ever seen. He never hesitated to take on new opportunities and always embraced a challenge with a bit of adventure. He did everything with honesty and integrity and always strived for the best. He had very strong values and always made time to help others. Suman's presence brought warmth to those around him, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Suman is survived by his amazing and loyal wife, Saroj; children, Soha (Sandeep) and Lincoln (Tejal); and grandchildren (Neha, Mia, Saira, soon-to-be Baby Boy Patel) who will forever cherish his memory. A Celebration of Life service to honor Suman's life will be held on February 12, 2025 at Palms West Funeral Home and Crematory in Royal Palm Beach, Florida where loved ones and friends can gather to celebrate his journey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gram Vikas Trust (www.gvtbharuch.org), a scholarship program supporting students pursing higher education in Bharuch, India. Suman's kindness and spirit will never be forgotten. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Although Suman's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. A Post-Celebration of Life Lunch will be held at: The Patel Family Home 142 Oakwood Lane Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410
