Sukhia Mathlin

Sukhia Mathlin aka Aunty Shiela separated from her mortal frame peacefully on Monday June 20th 2022. Born and raised in Guyana, she was the wife of the late Reginal Mathlin. Mother of Llewellyn ( Moses), Ferdinand (Brownie), Ralph, Lesline (Joyce), Randolph and Violet. She was the grandmother of Jamie, Yasmin, Nadira, Michelle, Leon, Ryan, Christina, Nikita, Samuel and Govinda. She was the great grandmother of Isabella, Amorina, Charles, Olivia and Oliver. She is survived by two brothers; Balkarna ( Berry) and Jai and two sisters Bethlin and Rosaline (Dolly). After marriage, she became one of the most recognized female of her time to own and operate a very successful business. Her community support here is testimony to her compassionate service, dedication, simplicity and humility. She is loved by all and will be greatly missed both here in the USA and in her native homeland. A viewing will be held at Palms West Funeral Home in Palm Beach Florida on Thursday June 23 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm Then she will be moved to the Leo F Kearns Funeral Home on 103-33 Lefferts Blvd in Queens NY. Viewing and Funeral services will be on Sunday June 26 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and on Monday June 27th from 9:00am – 11:00 am. Immediately after which she will be taken to Rosehill Cemetery, Linden NJ to rest in peace with her late, beloved husband Reginal Mathlin.
