Stuart Lucas Shoemaker

Stuart L. Shoemaker, 64, of Grand Bay Alabama, has joined our loving Creator at 4:25 AM, Thursday, February 8, 2019, at his home in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. He was born June 16th 1954, in Wood River Illinois, to Charles Shoemaker and Jane Shoemaker who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Maria R. Shoemaker whom he married on August 22, 1976. Also, surviving are his two daughters, Jessica Sonnier of Melbourne, Florida and her husband Justin Sonnier; Cristina Baker of Mullica Hill, New Jersey and her husband Christopher Baker; Grandchildren; Elena Sonnier, Chase Baker and Corbin Baker; Two brothers Steven Shoemaker and his wife Rebekah Shoemaker; Scott Shoemaker and his wife Tami Shoemaker and many loved nieces and nephews. Stuart was a long-time resident of Royal Palm Beach where he lived since retiring from the United States Air Force after 20 years of military service. He worked as lead plant maintenance mechanic at Palm Beach County Water Utilities and concurrently held a position at Aqua Soft Water Systems Inc. He loved to fish and spent as much time as possible fishing on the lake with his wife Maria. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, playing poker, swimming, watching movies and was an avid fan of Alabama football. The visitation is from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, February 11, 2019, at Palms West Funeral Home. The burial, which includes full military honors, will be held in Alabama at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery on February 13, 2019.
