Steven Edward Yankers

Steven Edward Yankers of Lake Worth Florida, passed away on Sunday January 22, 2023 surrounded by his loving family he was 79 years old. Steven served as a Bayonne police officer as well as a successful business owner. He was born on December 9,1943 in Jersey City, NJ. He raised his family in Bayonne NJ until 1984 and then Toms River NJ until 1991. He and his wife Jody decided to move to Florida where he worked for Coach Inc. and lived out the remainder of his very happy life. If you were lucky enough to know him then you were graced by a soft spoken gentle soul who always had a kind word and warm smile. He was a self-educated man who had a vast knowledge of history, politics and life lessons. He was extremely handy and always willing to help anyone at anytime. His family was the world to him and a day never went by without him expressing his love for them. Steven will be missed now and forever. He is predeceased by his mother Irene Yankers (Flynn) his brother Donald Yankers, his sisters Anita Lioi (Yankers) and Irene Amabile (Yankers) He is survived by his wife of 57 years Jody Yankers (Marino) his son Steven Yankers Jr, his daughters Renee Sica (Yankers) and her husband Alan, Natalie Day (Yankers) and her husband Jeffrey and Danielle Cecchini (Yankers) and her husband Robert. His grandchildren Alexis Day-Hause and her husband Sheridan, Zachary Day, Isabella and Francesca Cecchini, Angelo and Nicolas Sica, Sadie Bragg and his great granddaughter Kinsley Day, his sister Joanne Maillaro and her husband Jack, his brother in law John Amabile and many nieces and nephews. There will be a dedication Mass in his memory on February 6, 2023 at 1:00 pm at St. Rita Catholic Church 13645 Paddock Dr Wellington, FL 33414. The family would like to thank the amazing Doctors and nurses at JFK Medical center Cardiac unit and Hospice/Trustbridge of West Palm Beach Fl, for the excellent care and respect they showed our family throughout this very difficult time. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Steven Yankers to the American Heart Association.
