Stephen Gregory Trotter

July 18, 1956 — October 12, 2014

STEPHEN GREGORY AARON TROTTER, 58, West Palm Beach Fl, passed away on October 12, 2014 in Halifax Nova Scotia. He was born in Memphis TN. As a boy he loved going on vacation with parents and brothers. He often talked about the time he spent with his granddad Aubrey West. He graduated from White Station High School and took great pride that his granddaughter, Kayli, did the same almost 40 years later. He attended Mississippi State University but loved the Tennessee Volunteers "go Vols". As a boy he worked with his father in the family owned hobby shop. In 1978 he joined the United States Coast Guard. He spent most of his career in Elizabeth City, NC, Air Station Miami, FL and Barbers Point, HI mastering aircraft maintenance and preforming Search and Rescue. He retired after 22 proud years of serving his Country. After retiring from the U.S Coast Guard Gregg became part of a team at Sikorsky Aircraft. He loved the work he was doing and the people he worked with became part of his extended family. He was very proud and enjoyed talking about his team and the work they did on the Sikorsky CH 148 Cyclone Helicopter. Gregg was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He cherished every moment he spent with his five children. He was very proud of all of them. Even though his family lived in two different states he made sure everyone spent time together. The torturous drives for Kyle, Nicole, and Joshua from Florida to Tennessee every Thanksgiving and Christmas are cherished memories spent with family that will last forever. Some of Gregg's favorite things were watching his boys play hockey and listening to his daughter "sing". Gregg also enjoyed Micro Brews and college football. Listening to Elvis Presley and watching John Wayne movies were also some of his favorite things. He loved to read and was a very smart and articulate man that would love to use words like palooza or intrepid and when you gave him the funny look he would smile and say look it up in the dictionary. We are truly blessed to have had him in our lives and he will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his father James Robert Trotter and son-in-law David Kyle Irvin. He is survived by his loving mother Mildred Frances West Trotter, brothers Richard Todd Trotter (Brenda Trotter), and Dana Robert Trotter, his five children Jacquelin Lee Francis Irvin, Sean Aaron Lander Trotter, Kyle Andrew Aubrey Trotter, Nicole Sarah Lanani Trotter, Joshua Paul Kanoa Trotter. His grandchildren Kayli Ivrin, Brittney Irvin, and Austin Lee Trotter , nephew Colby Aaron Trotter and his forever friend Eleanor DeeDee Trotter.
