It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Stephen Alan Eppley of Boynton Beach, Florida, formally of Mechanicsburg, Pa., who died at his home on August 16, 2024 at age 58. Surviving is his loving wife, Adriana, parents Curtis and Suzanne Eppley, sister Stephanie Namnum (Peter) and nephew Anthony Namnum, including many aunts, uncles and cousins. Steve worked professionally as a chef for many years after graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York. Even after transitioning to a career in Information Technology as a systems analyst, Steve's cooking brought countless smiles and heaps of praise from family, friends, and loved ones. Steve served his congregation at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach, FL as an accomplished organist; his intense passion and interest in music was first nurtured by his first piano teacher, Dolores Ward of Colorado. He formally studied music under Bob Eyer of Chambersburg, Pa. and Stewart Foster of West Palm Beach, Fl. Steve had a passion for helping St. Christopher's Episcopal church improve their buildings and grounds. He generously gave of his time to ensure that various projects were completed. The church would not have been able to afford many of these projects if not for his gift of time and talents. Steve used his skills to help rebuild the Moller Organ at the Capitol Theatre in Chambersburg, Pa. and also rebuilt his own 1928 theatre organ in his home, which was his pride and joy. Over his life he gained a wide array of skills because of his passions and innate love of learning. He was a man who one day you could call and ask for cooking advice, the next for computer help, and then repair anything around your home. But above all, family was incredibly important to him; a dedicated husband, son, brother, uncle and friend, who leaves behind a family that will miss him dearly.
