Sidney J Kline, Jr., also known as "Uncle Al", is greeting his friends elsewhere as of Monday, December 14, 2015. He lived an incredible life full of love, family, and adventure. Born July 25, 1926, to Sidney Kline and Louise Paine Kline in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he was big brother to sister June (Arones).He went to fifteen schools before graduating from Cleveland East Tech High School, as his dad followed work in the Great Depression. Al joined the Army Air Corps as World War II was ending, and was very proud of his pilot's license. He attended his beloved Ohio State as one of the first returning G. I.'s on the G.I. Bill and became a lifelong fan of the Buckeyes. Married to Flossie Friedman Kline,they produced four incredible children: Sandy Kline (Steve Connolly), Sherry Kline (Richard McCarley), Andrew Kline (Lauren), and Scott Kline (Robin). He was a builder and developer in Hampton, Virginia, founding Kline Realty and building Scott's Point. Later in life, he met his partner Penny Hudgins and continued to enjoy life with golf, travel, and friends in West Palm Beach, Florida. In addition to his four children and sister June, he is survived by his seven grandchildren: Vance Connolly, Jacqueline Kline, Rebecca Kline, Danielle Kline, Rachel Kline, Noah Kline, Cody Kline, and step grandchildren Adam Connolly, Kendall McCarley Zamora, and Evan McCarley Deeds. Always appreciative of his blessings in life, he gave generously to many charities. His particular favorites were: Make a Wish, Battered Women Shelters, M. D. Anderson Cancer Research Center, and Johns Hopkins Medical Center. Please consider honoring his memory with a gift to your favorite charity.
