Sidney Roye Hinds

Sidney Roye Hinds, 88 of Loxahatchee, Florida (formerly of Norwalk, CT) passed away on June 8, 2013. The funeral Mass will be held on Saturday June 22, 2013 at 11:00 am, at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles, 100 Crestwood Blvd., S. Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411. Visitation will be held on Friday June 21, 2013 between 6:00-9:00 pm at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411 (www.palmswestfuneralhome.com). Sidney was born in Jamaica, West Indies, on October 7, 1924. He was married to Gloria on July 4, 1945; they were married 68 years. He served in the British Army during World War II. Sidney worked as an accountant for the Parks and Recreation Department, Norwalk, CT for 18 years. Mr. Hinds was retired, and living in Loxahatchee, Florida where he took great pleasure in cultivating his tropical fruit and plant farm. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed traveling, music and photography. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Arthur and Edna Hinds, sister: Mae Hinds, brothers: Noel, Clarence, Leslie, Adrian, and Alfred Hinds. Survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Gloria L. Hinds, his sister Freda Hylton, and Sister-in-Law Dorothy Chang, numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, many loving nieces and nephews, and friends. Children: Lacy Hinds, Marcia Sutton, her husband John, Paulette Hollenbeck, her husband James, Lyman Hinds, his wife Tong, Denise Arcari, her husband Tom, Caroline Weaver, Dr. Sidney Hinds II, and his wife Dr. Andrea Stahl. Grandchildren: Patricia Smythe, Dawn and Jennifer Sutton, Jay and Joseph Hollenbeck, Peter and Lyman Hinds, John Arcari, Jessica Arcari, Elizabeth Arcari, Andrea Arcari, Erica Widdman, Rachel Consentino, and Nicholas Weaver, Sidney III, Cecelia, and Sophia Hinds. Great Grandchildren: Ashley and A.J.
