From a very early age, Shana-Kay demonstrated a high intelligence yet a reserved and humble demeanor. She accomplished a lot in her short but meaningful life on earth. Her list of accomplishments included: earning a scholarship to Bryant University, attaining dual bachelor's degrees and a Masters degree, becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and working for two of the most prestigious accounting firms (PWC & Deloitte) in the United States . Shana-Kay was such an independent person that she immigrated to the United States at an early age, went to college away from family, and built her own network of caring and supporting friends and colleagues. Her most recent milestone was the purchase of her own home. All of this by the age of 30; that is quite the list of accomplishments. Every year she would take time to travel to Jamaica, her home country. While in Jamaica, Shana-Kay would visit with family and friends. She enjoyed both the hustle and bustle of the city, and the peaceful stillness of the countryside with its crisp fresh air. She enjoyed her Jamaican culture, music, and most of all the delicious foods. Her favorite fruit being mangoes. Her love for baking was perfectly paired with her kind-heartedness, as she would share the cakes she baked with family and friends, but not until they were taste approved. She also enjoyed watching movies, reading, and playing video games with her brother Jermaine, whom she cared for dearly. Since she was the youngest of her siblings and lived so far away, her older brothers would often check-in on her to make sure she was doing okay. However, they always found comfort in knowing she was very capable of managing on her own. Shana-Kay has touched the lives of so many people. She cared about family members and friends. She loved her siblings and adored her mother. In return, she was admired and loved by her siblings, friends, and relatives. However, she held a special place in her mom's heart as her only daughter and youngest child. Such a wonderful soul through and through. Though her life was cut short by the scourge of cancer, she fought the tough battle, never giving in and never giving up. The Lord looked upon her and saw that she was worthy, then released her from her ill fate. Her body being only a vessel, her spirit lives on. Gone from us too soon, she will be deeply missed and will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts.
