Seyahet Amirhor

March 26, 1924 — September 28, 2018

Seyahat Amirhor It is with great sadness the family of Seyahet Amirhor announce her passing on September 28, 2018 at Palms West Hospital at the age of 94. Seyahat was born in Azerbaijan, Iran on March 26, 1924 and was the eldest of seven siblings. She moved to Tehran with her husband Mohammad Hassan Hessam Vaziri where she raised her three children, Ali, Reza and Akhtar (Layla). She lived a full life in Tehran raising her children and working as a schoolteacher for 30 years to 5th & 6th graders at various schools including the Khayam School for Boys. She helped raise Akhtar's children Sahar and Nasim until they moved to the US in 1985. She then began travelling back and forth from Iran to California, Florida and England, where she would visit all three children and four grandchildren. She ultimately resided in Palm Beach, Florida with her son Reza until her passing. Seyahat or Mommy as most of us called her was an incredibly sweet, kind, gentle, funny and caring woman. Despite not speaking English well she always managed to make friends wherever she went. Her kindness was evident to all who met her. Mommy was the type of woman who did not like to miss out on fun whether that meant sunbathing in South Beach at the age of 90, drinking sake with her granddaughters or dancing the night away with Akhtar and Reza this past Persian New Year. She lived a relatively healthy life until the end. Her son Reza took excellent care to ensure that she always had everything she needed. The family will forever be grateful to Reza for ensuring that dear sweet Mommy was well taken care of. She loved her children very much and will be missed dearly. Seyahat was predeceased by her mother and father, Vagehe and Gholi Amirhor, brother Amir and sister Farideh. She is survived by her children Ali (Maryam), Reza (Maggie), and Akhtar (Mehdi), and will forever be remembered by her grandchildren, Sahar, Nasim, Leila and Kian. She also had three great grandchildren, Olivia, Sean and Nick. Seyahat will be fondly remembered by her brother and sisters, Parviz, Parvin, Malektaj, and Sima Amirhor and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. A memorial service will be held in honor of Seyahet on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, FL. 33411. Followed by lunch at Il Bellagio Restaurant at 1 p.m, City Place 600 S. Rosemary Ave #170, West Palm Beach, FL 33401, USA.
