Dr. Serge St. Gerard, 77, died on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at his residence in West Palm Beach, Florida with his family by his side. Dr. St. Gerard was a practicing physician for more than forty years first In Haiti and then New York, primarily at the Veterans Administration, after immigrating to the United States. He was an officer of the New York Chapter of the Association Medicale Haitienne a l'Etranger (Haitian Medical Association Abroad). Outside of his professional work, he was an active member of New York's Haitian community, volunteering and doing board work for Haitian Americans United for Progress for over a decade. Lastly, Dr. St Gerard proudly spent a decade as a Medical Reservist in the United States Army serving his country doing stints stateside and in Germany, providing medical care to our enlisted service personnel. Dr. St. Gerard was honorably discharged in November 1997, having achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He loved his family and his friends. He is fondly remembered for always being in contact with or reaching out to someone as the family connector. Serge is survived by his wife Marie Jose Parinis St. Gerard; by his brothers and their spouse Henriot St. Gerard (Colette), Hans Georges; by his sisters Carmelle St. Gerard Lopez, Micheline Jean-Charles; by his sons and spouses Pascal St. Gerard (Trina), Lucien St. Gerard (Margaret), Phillippe St. Gerard (Gennise); by his daughters and their spouses Astrid St. Gerard Joseph (Yvel), Joanne St. Gerard Joshua (Thair), Chantal St. Gerard, Ednique St. Gerard; by his grandchildren Roman St. Gerard, Thadeus and Julian Joseph, Naim and Amari Joshua, Derek and Carter St. Gerard; by his nephews and nieces Henriot St. Gerard (Nneka), Vanessa St. Gerard, Fabiola and Ricardo Lopez, Fabien St. Gerard, Sabine Georges, Ritza Georges Vales, Kathia Georges Pierre Louis, Dimitri Jean-Charles, Thierry Desir, Georges Menelas, Gary Menelas; by his many cousins: the Muller, the St. Gerard, the Sam, the Pierre-Louis, the Jadotte, the Barlatier, the Alouidor, the Dessources, the Memnon, the Rey, the Obas, the Emmanuel, the Prosper and especially Frantz and Marie Muller and Sylvia Obas Michel (Francois) who closely assisted him during his long illness. Serge will be fondly remembered by his many friends, classmates and especially by Dr. Yves Manigat, Anthony Toussaint and Raymond Dolce son ami-frère. He was predeceased by his sister Marie Claude St. Gerard Menelas and his brother Yves St. Gerard.
