Officer Sean Joseph Alex, age 43, of Lake Park, FL went to be with his Lord and Savior and Archangel Michael, Wednesday, January 7, 2016. Sean fought Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma valiantly with his wife Amy Simola Alex, his "village" of family and friends and his law enforcement family by his side. He was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on February 23, 1972, the son of late Richard and Ida (Johnson) Alex. Sean has always been an advocate of today's youth and America. His chosen path started in education which led to his career in Law Enforcement. He truly believed in family, faith and education. Sean has always been an animal lover and is survived by his dogs Pepper and Bama. For many years, Sean has rescued dogs and gave them a safe and loving home. The amount of love and support received has been indescribable and overflowing. Words shared have been a testament to his faith and family. Sean never wanted a soul to worry about him; he was as strong as an entire army. We lost not just a friend, but a hero. Sean was, "one hell of a good cop" and it was said that "Sean was the best person to have your six". It might be said that he lost to cancer, but that is not the case. You can only lose to something when you allow it to take everything away from you. While it may have taken him away from us, cancer could not take away his big heart, generous spirit, sense of service to others and love for family and friends. He was a man of his word. Preceded in death are his parents; Richard and Ida Alex. Survivors include the love of his life; wife Amy, brothers Richard and wife Veena of Portales, NM; Brian and wife Susan of Royal Palm Beach, two sisters, Debra Jensen, husband Michael, of Somerset, NJ and Brenda Borgia, husband Joseph of Waterford, PA; 8 nieces and nephews, Erica Nott, husband Zachary, Heather Arcabascio, husband Anthony , Julie Jensen, fiancé Steve Izzo, Marc Borgia, Johnnie Alex, Jennifer Alex, Brianna Alex and Bethany Alex; 3 great nieces and nephews; Anthony Arcabascio, Giuliana Arcabascio and Garrick Nott; Mother- in-law Lori Eaton Simola and brother- in- law Russell Simola. Family and Friends are invited to gather at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Parkway, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411, Friday January 15th from 2-4 and 6-9pm. Service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church at 9625 North Military Trail, WPB, FL. 33410 on Saturday January 16, 2016 at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue, P.O.
