Scott Edward Shultz, 70, of West Palm Beach, FL passed away February 13th, 2026. Born September 3, 1955 to Alvin and Evelyn Shultz in Alverda, Pennsylvania he was a devoted husband and father. One of 13 siblings, he was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Joyce Krause and brothers Fred, Leroy, Louis, William, and Jerry Shultz. Scott is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda (Strittmatter), his daughters Jessica (husband Andrew Waters) and Emily, as well as his son Scott Shultz Jr.
Scott worked as a miner at the Greenwich Collieries near Barnesboro, PA from 1973 until its closing in 1993 after which he studied at Triangle Tech trade school to retrain as an electrician. Scott was a member of the UMWA, was registered with the State of Florida as a Journeyman Electrician, and was a licensed ham radio operator.
A turning point in his life came in 1995 when Scott helped the efforts to rebuild the U.S. Virgin Islands following Hurricane Marilyn. He used his skills as an electrician, learned the air-conditioning trade, and built relationships that strongly influenced his path moving forward.
Besides being an avid amateur photographer, Scott was a skilled mechanic who loved to build and tinker with anything that could be taken apart. Scott found his own peace being in nature as a fisherman, a hunter, a gardener, or even just feeding the birds and squirrels.
Despite, or maybe because of, a life filled with adversity, Scott approached everyone with a remarkable level of kindness and understanding. He always looked for the best in others and consistently went out of his way to help friends and family in whatever ways he could.
