Scelfo, Samuel of Wellington, FL passed away peacefully on October 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Sam is survived by his wife, Palma, his daughters, Maria and Gloria, and his granddaughters, Shannon and Kate. Sam was born on July 2, 1922 in Roslyn, WA, the son of late Giuseppe and Marietta Scelfo. He served in the Italian Army and returned to the United States after World War II. In 1950 he married Palma Forello. Sam worked in the Garment Industey until 1960. He opened his own restaurant with his wife called Villa Palma in 1963 in City Line, Brooklyn, NY. They owned restaurants until 1968 when he went to work for Globe Slicing Machine Company. He retired in 1978. In 1995, the couple moved to Wellington, FL. Sam was a devoted husband of 68 years. He was hardworking, loved fixing things, and working with his tools. He will be remembered as someone who was always willing to help others and for always having something funny to say. Services will be on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Palms West Funeral Home in Royal Palm Beach, FL from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Mass will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018, 11:00 AM at St. Rita's Church in Wellington, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Sam's name to the American Heart Association.
