SALVATORE JOHN GALATI Beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on Saturday, August 11th, 2007 at his home in Loxahatchee, Florida. He joins his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth, who passed in 1996. He also joins his sister Genevieve Attanasio and his granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Galati. Salvatore was born on June 25, 1921 in Peekskill, New York. He was a member of the Air Force Reserve. He was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and rose to the ranks of Flotilla Commander in Fort Lauderdale. He was a member of the American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He married on August 29, 1943. He raised his family in New York. He retired from the US Postal Service and New York Central Railroad in 1970 and moved to Plantation, Florida. He is survived by his children: Louis (Cheryl) Galati, of Vero Beach, George (Sue) Galati, of Bethel, Conn., Jo Ann (Jim) Johnson, of Wellington, and Emlyn (Tom) McAna, of Boca Raton. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous family and friends that will miss him dearly. Viewing will be on Wednesday, August 15th, 2007 and Thursday, August 16th, 2007, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with a wake service on Thursday at 7:30pm at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, Florida (561)753-6004. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Apostles, 100 Crestwood Blvd., Royal Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday, August 17th, 2007 @ 11:00am.
