Rukmin Singh (n Ramdhanny), 86 years, of West Palm, FL formerly Winnipeg, passed away on February 20 2025. She was born on December 26 1939 in Uitvlugt Estate, Guyana. Rukmin is survived by her daughters Jaso (Ramesh), Paro (Satesh), Lilo (Subhas), Baby, Chandannie, Kamo (Charles), Nancy, Vashtie and Cyndi; by her son TJ; by her 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and by her siblings Seeram, Chunka, and Gangadai (Lorelie), Ramesh, Joe and Passa (Vishnu). Rukmin was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Someer (Bansie) Singh; by her siblings Mohan, Patty, Dhanpaul, Japs, Delco, and Rajdai, infant children and grandchildren. She cherished the title of Nani and Grandma and is lovingly remembered as Finey Didi, Auntie Finey, Bansie Mamee and Chachi to countless nieces, nephews and cousins. Rukmin grew up in Uitvlugt Estate, where she later married Bansie(Someer), in 1955. Together, they built a life in Mahaica before moving to Winnipeg, Canada, in 1975 in search of new opportunities for their family. It wasn't always easy, but through every challenge, she stood strong, always putting her family first. Winnipeg became home for 26 years, and their house—lovingly known as "Henderson"—was more than just a place to live. She created a home that not only brought the family together, but friends and neighbors as well. She made every birthday, holiday, and special occasion unforgettable, always paying attention to the little details that made people feel loved. Though she worked quietly behind the scenes, Rukmin played an important role in the family's businesses and community endeavors from hospitality, politics, and operating shops in both Canada and Guyana. While living in Winnipeg, she devoted her time to supporting her husband, the extended Guyanese community and her local community in St.Clements, Manitoba. But above all, her greatest joy came from being with her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. She never let distance or time weaken her connections, treasuring every phone call, letter, and photo sent her way. She had a love for simple joys—Chinese checkers, crossword puzzles, game shows, and tending to her garden. But what she truly cherished was passing down her cooking secrets, stories and life lessons to the next generations. Her gentle smile and endless generosity will forever be missed but never forgotten. Her life was a testament to love, sacrifice, and family. Her warmth and unwavering devotion blessed our lives in countless ways, and we are forever grateful for the love she shared with us. May Lord Krishna continue to bless her soul and grant her a peaceful journey.
