Roy Edward Demarco

It is with deepest sorrow that the family of Palm County Sheriff's Sargent Roy Edward DeMarco announces his passing on Tuesday May 2, 2017, at the age of 52. Roy will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his devoted wife of 13 years Deanna DeMarco and their children Meagan 19, Alyssa 12, Brooke 10 and Joey 6. Roy was born on June 30, 1964 in Waterbury Connecticut, to Edward & Marion DeMarco (both deceased). He was the youngest of their five sons. He is survived by brothers, Randal DeMarco (wife Terry) of Phoenix AZ, Richard DeMarco (wife Regina) of Weirsdale, FL and Robert DeMarco (wife Caroline) of Dunnellon, FL and predeceased by Raymond DeMarco. Roy also leaves behind 6 nephews, Craig & Bryan, AZ, Richard & Ryan, FL and Robert & Edward, FL as well as 3 grand nieces and 2 grand nephews. In 1975 Roy moved from Naugatuck, CT with his parents to Boca Raton Florida where he attended middle school thru 11 grade of high school before returning to Naugatuck to live with his brother Richard to finish his senior year. After graduating High School, Roy returned to Boca and was employed his first few years in law enforcement by the city of Palm Beach on the police department until obtaining his 30 year position with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department. Roy continued his education earning his Masters Degree while protecting the communities in and surrounding Palm Beach County. He will be remembered as an example to others of what an officer should be: competent and courageous, tenacious and tough, brave and dedicated. His fellow officers knew him as "the cops' cop; loved his family, loved his friends and loved his job". He will be forever missed by not only his family but also by his cherished friends on the Sheriff's Department. Roy's life was a blessing, his memory a treasure; he is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
