Roy Robert Dawkins was born in Kingston, JA on March 30, 1934. He was the youngest child of Cyril Dawkins and Mary White. Roy became the proud father of a son, Anthony(Bobby) Dawkins in Jamaica before moving to England in the early 1960s. It was there in England that he married the beautiful Beryl Dawkins in 1962. From that union, they had three children, Sandra, Audrey, and Colin. Both Colin and Anthony preceded their father in death. Roy worked as a cab driver in England. Although he was born in Jamaica, London was his love. As a "cabby" there wasn't a "crook or nanny" he couldn't find. He knew the best places to go and how to get there. In 2009, a stroke forced him into retirement. Additionally, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. In September of 2017, Roy's daughter, Sandra, went to move her father from England to the States. He was admitted to Palms West Hospital early April, then Morse Rehab Facility for rehab. He continued to digress. He was then admitted to Woodlake Nursing home but after three days he was transported to his own home under the care of his family and a nurse. On the morning of May 24, 2019, Roy Robert Dawkins went home. He always said, "Mamma always prayed for me," when questioned about his relationship with the Lord Jesus. His coming to the States to be cared for by his family was not by accident, but the result of a praying mother. He leaves behind his two daughters, Sandra Gallimore (Edward Gallimore), Audrey Bridgewater (Jerry Bridgewater), seven grandchildren- Karene, Anunca, Jared, Jeremiah, Jada, Justin and Chelsea, and three great-grandsons – Jayden, Jordan, and Jeremy.
