Rose Marie Belcher, 92 passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at her home in Loxahatchee, Florida.

Rose was born in Nichols, Florida on November 28, 1933 to the late Thomas Weir and Agnes MacDonald Weir. Her family moved to Miami, where she met and married the love of her life, Jim. Rose dedicated her life to raising a family in the knowledge and love of Christ. She was a devoted wife and mother and an active church member. She and Jim also extended their love to multiple precious foster children over the years. Rose and Jim enjoyed 40 years married, and then Rose lived widowed for 35 years -- always finding ways to be a blessing to others.

In her later years, Rose volunteered extensively at her local elementary school and ministered through Sunday Schools and Vacation Bible Schools. She visited friends, neighbors and strangers in nursing homes. She was a member of Truth Point Church in West Palm Beach.

Rose loved so deeply. She loved babies. She loved to play with her grandchildren and was constantly making up games. She loved writing little poems and songs. She loved words and books. She loved reading recipes and experimenting in the kitchen. She loved hosting big family gatherings, and boy, did she have the dishes for it. She loved sweet iced tea. She loved animals -- those who were hers and those who were strays. She loved creative and clever ideas. She loved crafts and sewing and trips to JoAnn Fabrics. Rose loved researching her ancestry. She loved to spend time outside admiring her plants.

And while there’s so much more she loved, Rose treasured her children. She treasured her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, her nieces and nephews and anyone who needed a surrogate mother or grandmother.

Most of all, Rose loved the Lord. It is with great comfort we know she has entered Zion with singing, where everlasting joy will crown her head.

Rose’s legacy will continue for generations.

She is survived by her children: three daughters and four sons: Deborah Basie (Jim, deceased), Jimmy Belcher (Elaine), David Belcher (Hortensia), Amanda Rose Peters (Robin), Jonny Belcher (Ruth), Paul Belcher (Regina) & Amy Gardner (John), stepson Bob Shaw (Karin).

Grandchildren: Julie Moore (Steve), Jennifer French (Larry), Cheryl Sutton (AJ), Amanda Claxton (Jerome), Garrett Peterson (Ilse), Natalie Roe (Robert), Jonathan Belcher (Nora), Rachel Fahey (Sean), Laura Gies (Mickey), Sarah Liggins (Alec), Rebecca Gardner, Tina Denton (Michael), and Jessica Gardner. She also warmly embraced her step-grandchildren: Elliot and Edward Claro, Ashley Christner, Meghan Wilson, and Ashley Kinney.

Great Grandchildren: Meagan Ricketts (Jacob); Alex and Cameron French; Aydin and Isaac Sutton; Noah, Isabella and Sophie Peterson; Michael and Caleb Claxton; Lyndon, Madeline and Nolan Fahey; Ailey, Brynna, Emerlin, Lincoln and Elsie Denton; and Baby Girl Liggins due this summer.

One Great Great Grandson: Sonny Ricketts

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Jim Belcher; brothers, Thomas and Donald Weir; and sister Freda Haller.

Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a service immediately following at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at Palms West Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Eusey officiating.
