Rosalyn (Roz) Kolodny Jacobs, loving wife, mother, sister, and friend passed on Sunday October 15th, in Atlantis, Florida at the age of 77. Roz is survived by her husband, Earl Jacobs, daughter Seela Jacobs, sister Debra Sapper, brother Larry Kolodny, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Roz was born June 8, 1946 in Munich, Germany. She was the eldest daughter to parents Morris (Moses) and Sylvia (Cyla) Kolodny. She immigrated to the U.S. with her parents in 1949. She attended Tilden High School in Brooklyn, NY, earned her BA from Brooklyn College and MA in French from the University of Iowa. She taught French, Spanish, and German during her extensive career in teaching and had a tremendous influence on her students, particularly during her time at the School of Choice in Pahokee, FL. Roz and Earl were married in June of 1981 and have lived in many cities in Florida for over 40 years. Roz was a lover of language and traveled extensively to expand her language expertise from Costa Rica to Paris, France. She spent time tutoring children outside of her career in many languages including French and Hebrew. She traveled to Maryland for several summers to work at Camp Louise as a banker. Roz never met a stranger and was loved by so many. She made an impression wherever she went and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. A funeral service is scheduled at 11AM on Thursday October 19th 2023 at Palms West Funeral Home in Royal Palm Beach, FL. Followed by a graveside service at 1:30PM at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach, FL.
