Roel Tingle Dunn, 77, peacefully passed away on October 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving and supportive family. Roel was a man of empathy, resilience, captivating charm, quick wit, and unwavering love of his family. Roel was born on March 27, 1948, in the beautiful parish of St. Ann, Jamaica, the 11th child of 12 siblings to Teddy and Florence Dunn. In his early years Roel attended the Epworth Elementary School, then the St. Andrew Technical High School where he pursued courses to enhance his educational opportunities. After a couple of years working in Jamaica, Roel embarked on a journey to the United States in 1969, where he once again hooked up with his soulmate Valerie. The relationship blossomed into a full romance. Their love for each other grew, resulting in their beautiful daughter Keisha. Roel, being the man that he is put a ring on it, and he and Valerie exchanged vows on June 2, 1979. He was a man of great strength, integrity, and a deep belief in treating others with kindness, just as he would want to be treated. He instilled in his family the values of respect, a sense of faith, and doing things with honesty and integrity. For many years, Roel dedicated himself to the hospitality industry while working at the prestigious Ritz Carlton Hotel. Roel purchased a beautiful home for his family in Paterson, New Jersey after just a few years of living in the United States. Then he moved his family to the sunshine state of Florida where he established his forever home. As a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Roel was truly a man of many titles. His passions included spending quality time with family, cooking, gardening, his deep connection with Jesus, enjoying classic shows and movies, reading the newspaper, attending church each Sunday, and always being there as a shoulder to cry on or have a laugh with. Roel is survived by his wife, Valerie; daughter, Keisha; grandson, Tristen; granddaughter, Natalya; great-grandson, Micah; and surviving siblings, Gwen, Eileen, and Leroy. He is also surrounded by nieces, nephews, and a wonderful array of family members and friends who cherished him dearly.
