Our father, Rodney Phillip Rampersad , was born in Trinidad to Phillip and Grace. He grew up in the city of Marabella alongside his younger sister, Anne.

As a young man, he moved to St. Croix, where he met our beautiful mother, Felia, at the bank where they both worked. They fell in love and were married on May 4, 1969. Just weeks later, he entered active duty in the U.S. Army. After welcoming their first child, our mother and brother joined our father in Germany where he was stationed, making some of our earliest cherished memories as a family.

Following his military service, they returned to St. Croix, where our family grew further to include Radha, Romelia, and Reet.

For all his ambition and hard work, the absolute most important thing in our dad's life was his family. We were his driving force in everything he did. We lived a wonderful life, but his entrepreneurial spirit yearned for more opportunity, leading him to move our family to Florida in 1981.

Our dad was a genuine, loving man who truly cared about people, and because of that, he was deeply loved and respected by absolutely everyone he met. He was always close by, offering his support, wisdom, and unwavering optimism to help us push through every challenge. Through every up and down, he remained a devoted husband, an incredible father and grandfather, and an endlessly optimistic soul.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Felia Rampersad; his children, Rodney Rampersad Jr. and his wife, Kenya Rampersad; Radha Rampersad-Berry and her husband, Derrick Berry; Romelia Rampersad-Hohn and her husband, Michael Hohn; and Reet Rampersad-Hartinger and her husband, Justin Hartinger. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Rodney Rampersad III, Andrea Ingle, Treston Ingle, Gshaline Rampersad, Gshada Rampersad, Dylan Berry, Donovan Berry, Alejandro Rampersad, Michael Hohn, William Flores, and Starlet Soto; as well as his great-grandchildren, Levi Rampersad and Rowen Rampersad. He also leaves behind his sister, Ruby Ann Pantin, and her children, Nicole Bailey, Anthony Pantin, Roger Pantin, and Crystal Morris.
