Robert B. Rehr of Wellington, FL 1941 – 2025 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert B. Rehr, age 83, on January 5, 2025. Robert was born on June 30, 1941, in Reading, PA, and was raised in North Miami, FL, where he graduated from North Miami High School in 1959. He went on to attend Auburn University before beginning his distinguished 24-year career with the Miami Fire Department. Following his retirement, Robert continued his dedication to fire service, serving as Fire Chief for both the City of West Palm Beach and Delray Beach. He also served as the Manager of Palm Beach County's Emergency Management Division and held a position with the Florida Division of Forestry, ultimately completing an impressive 37-year career in fire service. Robert's leadership and initiatives greatly enhanced citizen safety, fire rescue response, and rescue capabilities, earning him the respect of his colleagues and community. Robert's commitment to service extended far beyond his professional career; he was always the first to offer help, no matter the task. His family was his greatest joy, and he was a loving husband, father, and a second father figure to all his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his daughter, Deborah Brooks; his son, Robert M. Rehr; and his grandchildren, Ryan Brooks, Bradley Rehr, Alli Rehr, Brent Rehr, Zane Rehr, and his great-grandchild, Kaylee Brooks. Robert was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and community. His legacy of love, service, and commitment will forever be remembered.
