Robert Edward Mcginley

Robert E. McGinley (age 98) of Wellington, FL passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024. "Bob" was preceded in death by wife Grace, a son Daniel, parents Edward and Elizabeth McGinley, 5 brothers and sisters, and a son-in-law Timothy Walker. He is survived by daughters Patricia Walker, Kathleen Bond (Robert), and Maureen McGinley; grandchildren Daniel and Christopher Stump; Matthew and Kevin Bond, Kristen Bond-Dobson, and four great grandchildren. Bob grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was a lifelong avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was a proud veteran of the United States Armed Forces, having served in the Army during WWII and the Air Force during the Korean War. Bob met Grace, his wife of 63 years, on the Air Force base in West Palm Beach, FL. They married in 1953 and spent the rest of their lives there raising a family and building a long happy life together. In 1987, Bob retired from Sears Roebuck & Company in West Palm Beach after 30 years of working in the hardware department. Bob was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. He proudly served in the Knights of Columbus for 60 years providing assistance to the sick, disabled, and needy members of the Catholic family community. Anybody who knew Bob knew how proud he was of his Irish heritage. He was quite fond of singing Irish songs, and he was always quick to tell an Irish joke or two, providing numerous laughs to so many friends and family throughout the years. Bob had a fun-loving spirit, and he was a generous, kind, loving husband, father, and friend. He will be missed dearly by all his loved ones. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, 100 Crestwood Blvd S., Royal Palm Beach, 33411, Wednesday, October 30 at 10:30 AM.
