Robert Matthew Marks Ii

On Monday, December 21, 2020, Robert Matthew Marks II, 65, loving husband and father of four children, passed away surrounded by his family. Bob was born on 12/27/54 in Miami, FL to Howard and Gladys (Smith) Marks. He enlisted in the Army where he served his term at the White House working with the secret service under Presidents Nixon, Ford, and Carter administrations. He met the love of his life, Karen, in 1985 while working in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. They were married on June 5, 1989 in West Palm Beach, FL. Bob worked for Palm Beach County for the last 20 years as he worked his way up to Assistant Director of Electronic Services and Security Division. As retirement approached, Bob and Karen prepared to travel the country in their camper with a home base in Salt Springs, FL. He was especially looking forward to many adventures with his newly acquired Harley. If you knew him then you knew about this retirement plan and exactly how many months, weeks, days, hours, and minutes he had left until retirement. Bob loved adventures such as camping and mountain biking, he supported his children endlessly, and he loved talking to everyone, as long as he got to talk about his wife, cycling adventures, kids, dogs or his beloved Miami Dolphins. He had a sense of humor that brightened anyone's life around him. Bob is survived by his wife Karen; children Lauren, Jonathon, Mary, and Stephanie; grandchildren Avery, Jackson, and Maxwell; his mother Gladys; brothers Bill and Tim; and sisters Diane and Mary. He leaves behind a loving family, hundreds of friends, pets, and a lifetime of memories with his loved ones. Bob will be missed endlessly.
