Robert Joseph Husted

Robert Joseph Husted Sr. December 20, 1955 – July 6, 2024 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Husted Sr., a beloved father and devoted grandfather. Born in Chicago on December 20, 1955 and youngest sibling to Sandy, Ron, Gregory & Sherry. Robert was a remarkable athlete in his school days (where some of his records still stand today), a passion that he carried throughout his life. Robert (better known as Bob) married Ellyn, and together they had two wonderful children, Rob and Jennifer. Though their marriage ended in divorce, Bob's dedication to his children never wavered. He selflessly raised Rob and Jennifer on his own, sacrificing his time, money, and personal relationships to ensure they grew up with love, guidance, and support. Bob's interests were as varied as they were profound. He had a deep love for music, an enthusiasm for golf, and a passion for RC racing. Known for his generosity, Bob was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. His and his neighbor's lawn were often a gathering place for neighbors, where they hosted barbecues and get-togethers that were filled with laughter and camaraderie. Professionally, Bob had a long and fulfilling career with Pepsi, where he worked tirelessly and built many lasting relationships. His dedication and work ethic were exemplary, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His contributions to the company were significant, and his impact will be remembered by those who had the privilege of working with him. Despite his selflessness, Bob gave so much of himself to others. He passed away peacefully in his sleep with hospice care after being hospitalized for over five months. His departure leaves a void that words cannot fill, but his legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Bob is survived by his children, Rob Husted and Jennifer Brinkman, his cherished grandchildren, Wolfgang and Heidi Brinkman and his dog "Rocky Junior". He was a great man, father, grandfather, mentor, friend, and his memory will forever be a blessing to his family and friends.
