Robert L. Helton, 85, of Loxahatchee, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on June 26, 2025. Born on January 22, 1940, Robert was a proud former police officer, and a man who appreciated the simple joys of life: cool cars, a well-kept garden, and a cold beer on a warm day. He was known for his quiet strength and sense of humor. Robert was first married to his high school sweetheart, Bonnie, with whom he shared the early years of his life. He later married Gay, and together they built a loving and lasting life. Robert and Gay were married for 51 years, until her passing in 2020. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Betty and Robert Lawrence Helton Sr; his infant son, Tommy (1960); his only brother, William Eugene Helton (1999); and his eldest son Lawrence Helton (2021). He is survived by his sister, Diane Montgomery; his children Robert, Doug, and Keith Helton; and his daughter, Karen Spagnardi. He also leaves behind a loving extended family including many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Robert's life reflected hard work, integrity, and kindness, and he will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
