Robert David Gilmartin III, age 63, of Wellington, Florida, and formerly of Port Washington, New York passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024. He is survived by his loving mother, Agnes Slicklen; his devoted wife, Maria Mercedes Gilmartin (née Rosa); and his cherished son, Robert David Gilmartin IV. He also leaves behind his nieces, Deidra Mulero, Gabriela Rosa, and Andrea Rosa; nephews, Kermith Rosa, John Carter, and Kyle Christopher MacLean; sister, Adrienne MacLean; brothers-in-law, John MacLean, Jose A. Rosa, and Jose M. Rosa; sister-in-law, Maria C. Rosa; and his mother-in-law, Mercedes Garcia. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Gilmartin Jr. Robert was born on May 22, 1961, to Agnes and Robert Jr. in Port Washington, where he spent his formative years. He graduated from Iona University with a bachelor's degree in business. His professional journey took him across New York, Virginia, and Rhode Island before he settled in Wellington in 2004, where he became a beloved member of the community. In 1997, he married Maria Rosa, whom he met in 1986, and together they welcomed their son, Robert IV, in 2003. In Wellington, Robert worked as an Operations Manager for Empire Legal Reporting. His colleagues revered him as "the engine that keeps the company and team running efficiently," recognizing his unmatched dedication and leadership. Known for his incredible sense of humor, tireless work ethic, and deep care for others, Robert left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. He had a magnetic presence, commanding attention in every room he entered. His passions included golf, horse racing, sports, his pets, his unwavering Catholic faith, and tackling challenges no one else dared to face. Robert will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives he touched. A funeral service to honor his life will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church, located at 13645 Paddock Drive, Wellington, FL, on Friday, November 22, at 11:30 A.M.
