It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Mr. Robert "Rob" Edward Ellis Jr., on March 27, 2024, at the age of 67. He departed this life surrounded by his family at his residence in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, following a valiant journey with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Born on October 6, 1956, in West Palm Beach, Florida, he was the cherished spouse of Deborah Ellis, to whom he was united in matrimony for 43 years. He was a dedicated loving father to his daughters Tammy (Jim) Kilgore, Tanya (John) Ward, Bobbi Sue (John) Monko, and Kristina (Wade) McBryer. Mr. Ellis distinguished himself as the Owner of Straightline Masonry Services Inc., his commitment and industrious nature left an indelible mark on the South Florida masonry sector. His leisure time was joyfully spent engaging in activities such as fishing, boating, beach-going, gardening, culinary endeavors, and basking in the warmth of his family. Robert also took great pride in being the greatest Papa to his grandchildren, great-grandchild, and his two faithful canine companions, Dolly & Max. Surviving Mr. Ellis are his siblings Patty Debald, Marrianne Huffstetler, and Jona McClain. His grandchildren Eddie Baer, Logan Baer, Kendall Baer, Tyler Kilgore, Brooke Ward, Paige Ward, Londyn Ward, Gavin Pardo-Ellis, Mary Grace Monko, Blake McBryer, Charli McBryer, and his great-grandchild Everly Baer. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Ellis, his mother, Mary Louise McGovern, and his siblings, Sandra Laterza and Harry Venti. The Ellis family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Kapilkumar Patel, MD, the lung transplant team, and the entire staff at Tampa General Hospital for their unwavering support throughout Robert's arduous journey. Thank you for performing miracles giving Rob more life experiences with his family and friends. We also want to extent our gratitude to Robert's organ donors and their families. Words cannot express how thankful we are. Organ donation granted our father more time to witness many extra memories and blessings with our family. We are forever grateful. Robert was a devout member of Christ Fellowship, and his legacy will be treasured eternally by all who had the privilege to know him. He leaves behind a void that will be profoundly felt by countless individuals, he was truly one of a kind. In his memory, we say, "This isn't goodbye, it's see ya later." A service to commemorate Mr. Ellis's life will be conducted Sunday April 7, 2024. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects from 12pm to 2pm a ceremony to follow at Palms West Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411.
