Robert Earl Basehart (Bob) Bob Basehart has passed from this life into the hands of God on 3/8/25 with the hope that he has left the things he touched and the people he loved better for his having been here. Bob was born on January 10, 1947, in Buffalo, New York, where he was raised by his loving parents Earl and Mary Basehart. After graduating from Kenmore East High School, in the Town of Tonawanda in 1965, Bob attended the University of Miami to pursue a degree in architecture. He transferred to the State University of New York at Buffalo after two years and earned degrees in Psychology and City Planning. He worked as a Planner for the Town of Amherst. In 1977 he returned to South Florida, where he spent the rest of his life. Bob worked for Palm Beach County for eight years as the County Zoning Director and Executive Director of Planning, Zoning and Building. In 1986 he became a partner at the local planning and landscape architecture firm Urban Design Studio, where he worked for 7 years until starting his own successful planning & Zoning consulting business. In 2009 he left the private sector to take the position of Planning, Zoning & Building Director for the Village of Wellington, where he worked until his passing. While at Wellington, he held several positions. He truly loved Wellington, especially the many great people he was privileged to work with there. Bob leaves behind two loving children (Michael Basehart, Kimberly Gaetano), a Stepdaughter (Stefanie Crawford (Leonard), eight grandchildren (Lauren Basehart, Aidan Basehart, Ashley Basehart, Nicholas Bruce, Natalie Bruce, Robert Brown, Ransom Gaetano, and Levi Gaetano) a sister Nancy DeYoung (Larry) and his longtime loving companion Sandra.
